Things To See & Do In Stratford-upon-Avon

Stratford-upon-Avon is a gorgeous market  town within the West Midlands area of England in Britain that’s extremely well-liked by tourists. In the main the city is amazingly famous for being the town in which William Shakespeare was born and even supposing the vast majority of customer attractions in Stratford-upon-Avon have something to do with the famous playwright and poett there are many different reasons to take a holiday within Stratford-upon-Avon.

Situated 147km from the capital, London Stratford-upon-Avon is the finest place to see a Shakespearean play especially in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Although Stratford gets busy with tourists it remains a fantastic vacations destination.

Stratford is home to masses of Jacobean and Elizabethan structures and in places such as Henley Street and Sheep Street you can see those half-timbered black and white dwellings and other buildings. Henley Street is most well known for being the place where you will find Shakespeare’s Birthplace, however it’s also an excellent shopping district. The oldest lived in house in the town is found on Sheep Street. The Shrieves House is thought to be one of the places where Oliver Cromwell lived in before the second battle of Worcester but, sadly, there is little evidence to support the idea.
